Global Warming
Global Warming is the one of the most serious problem in the world. For various reasons, it has become very common and it affects the entire world. This includes the potential climate changes that will be brought about by an increase in global temperatures, and gradual increase in global temperatures caused by the release of gases that trap the sun’s heat in the Earth’s atmosphere. Gases add to global warming include carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxides and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases form a blanket around the Earth, trapping heat and raising temperatures on the ground. This is steadily changing our climate. The carbon dioxide emissions are mostly caused by the burning of fossil fuels for the purpose of electricity generation and energy. The carbon dioxide emissions are also caused by coal, oil and natural gas. In addition, a carbon dioxide emission comes from the burning of gasoline in internal-combustion engines of cars and light trucks. Overall making small changes now in the way we live means avoiding huge changes in the future. Scientists, governments and individuals must work together to overcome this serious problem.

Causes
Global Warming is complex issue with more than one cause. One of the main factors is the increasing concentrations of heat-trapping greenhouse gases in Earth’s atmosphere are raising temperatures. This means irregular weather patterns and climate could cause problem of drought or flooding. Melting of polar ice caps would raise sea levels and could cause flooding to many low lying coastal parts of the world including many cities. Another factor is that modern industrial life is increasing the greenhouse effect. For example, mankind burns a huge amount of fossil fuels this makes increase level the carbon dioxide. A third cause is methane gas contributing to the greenhouse effect. It is produced naturally from various sources such as marshland. Also increase rice growing and cattle rearing could cause more methane.

One Cause
Carbon dioxide is one major problem which causes global warming. CO2 is a long-term greenhouse gas and adding CO2 to Earth’s atmosphere will make the plant’s surface warmer. The increasing CO2 in the atmosphere cause warms the Earth’s surface and leads to melting of ice near the poles. As the ice melts, land or open water takes its place. Both land and open water are on average less reflective than ice, and this absorb more solar radiation. This causes more warming, which in turn causes more melting, and this cycle continues. Cutting plants also cause increase in the CO2 because carbon dioxide emissions comes form power plants. Natural gas, coal, and oil are the 3 types of polluting power plants. Coal is the biggest contributor out of the 3 because of it releases more carbon than the rest of them.

Effect
Although there are some main causes of global warming, there are also some major effects of global warming. The biggest effect is changes in water distribution. Higher temperatures are melting the ice in planet. For example people who live in these areas are already seeing changes in their environment which are affecting their day to day lives. Another adverse effect is the level of the oceans is rising. This means people who live in low-lying areas are in danger. For example, island of Tuvalu covers by water. A major effect is using more energy. Generating electricity is one of the main sources of carbon dioxide. If we use more electricity, we will produce more C02.
One Effect
When the temperature increases cause warms the Earth’s surface and leads to release methane gas into the air which is stored in the earth’s oceans. Methane is around 60 times stronger than carbon dioxide as a green house gas. This methane can be found in ice. When ice melts by warms Earth’s surface, methane stored in the ice is released. Methane which is released from the oceans killed off countless land and sea creatures, and raised significantly the temperature of the planet. It is produced naturally from different sources such as marshland. This a rapid release of methane has lead to huge heating of the earth.

Arab Environment
In
Abu Dhabi oil was used to build up alternate energy sources, especially solar power. The government of Abu Dhabi decided to construct a huge electricity generating station utilizing solar power costing Dh350 million. This station will be the first of its kind in the world. GCC countries have produced electricity using natural gas and diesel. The cost of using solar energy for generating electricity is measured high and varies according to the size and techniques used in a station. Establish this type of station in
Abu Dhabi will bring this advanced technology to the UAE. Demand on desalinated water is increasing almost as quickly as the demand on electricity. Solar energy resources are available in the
Arabian Gulf region, as plenty as oil and natural gas resources. A new direction in the area, led by the UAE, represented in the
Abu Dhabi programme for solar energy, which may turn into a big and integrated GCC programme, as there is an electricity sharing link between these countries. In the future we will see
Abu Dhabi’s sun illuminating many other cities, public areas and economic establishments, in the same way as the oil wealth made up the primary source of energy.

Individuals Action
A major contributor to global warming is individual’s personal carbon dioxide emissions. The
everyday choices we make in the home, office, school can have an impact on global climate change. Although a variety of local and national are in place to reduce carbon dioxide, there are also steps that individuals can take. First step is that some changing in the home can reduce carbon dioxide. For example, heating and cooling, turning the thermostat lower in the winter and higher in the summer can cause a carbon dioxide reduction of about 500 pounds for each two-degree adjustment. Some of the simplest actions in the home include turning off all lights and appliances when they are not in use and recycling. Second step is that individuals should try to walk, bike, or use public transportation to get from place to place. For every gallon of gas that is saved, carbon dioxide emissions are reduced by 20 pounds. Cleaning or replacing a car’s air filter can save an additional 5% of the energy needed and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 175 pounds per year. Third step is that, any individual can help organization several energy and waste saving steps in the office. Make sure to turn off all lights and appliances that do not need to be on at the end of the day. With respect to paper waste, using both sides of a sheet for printing, copying, writing and drawing can eliminate a lot of paper waste. For every pound of office paper that is recycled, it can reduce carbon
.dioxide emissions by four pounds.
What I learn from this project
I learn from this project global warming is happening and some people still think it’s not
happening which is a serious problem. The world all the time changing, we have to decide what we will do to adjust. I also learn this global warming is a major environmental hazard and how the greenhouse effect to warm the plant and increase average global temperatures. This is leading to change in weather patterns and leading to melting of the polar ice-cap and a matching rise in sea level. In addition, the increased release of human-made greenhouse gases into the air through the burning of fossil fuels and increased levels of gases such as carbon dioxide that traps heat in the earth’s lower atmosphere potentially causing global warming. Finally, making small changes now in the way we live means avoiding huge changes in the future. Scientists, governments and individuals must work together to overcome this serious problem.
